The Story so far this season...

And so we are. The Brisbane Lions will play it's first finals game in five years. It has been a long and hard season for all, players and supporters of Brisbane Lions United. Through some weeks were hard, pulling the hair out of players and wondering what our L plated coach would do. Whatever he did, he got the Lions into the finals something has happened for a long time.

At first with Michael Voss many people has started dreams of Voss waving the magic wand and Brisbane would become the great era team we had been used to in the past. As the the season went on people grew angry about the team selection however his selections has done the work and now he looks towards the first final.

The Players who made it happen

Every team needs players to improve or a new addition to the list to give them that boost. Through a double injury in a key position this unearthed the greatest of all improvements. Mitch Clark and Daniel Rich has been the big boost to the Lions that we had been looking for. At times you would call them the X factor in certain matches. Other players in Drummond and Adcock have done well and the old army of Brown, Bradshaw, Black, and Power once again leads the charge into the finals. But even those four know they can't win a flag by themselves. Sherman's season has rebounded in a massive nearly booting 30 goals for a season which he has been the missing smaller forward we had been looking for.

The Preview

The Brisbane Lions have entered the finals and the finals door have shut on the likes of Port and the Premiers Hawthorn (Pause and smile). The Lions defeated the Swans to win and earn their home final and what a battle we will have when Carlton is against us. They haven't been in the finals for over 7 years. Brown may have lost the Coleman to the Fev but he has a chance to prove his captain powers now there's no Michael Voss on the field directing his men to another flag. He will be doing that in the coaches box.

If the game's on for Saturday night (the Lions' website and AFL.com are all frozen atm), I'll be heading up to Brissy this weekend.

Anyone kind enough to put me up for Sat night? Depending on how the game goes, I might not get much sleep!

Well Sweegs I would but I have a new born baby and my Stank sister in law from Hawaii is with me for another 3 weeks so this time I can't help ya unless you can get rid of an angry Pot smoking Japanese chick with a loving for mixed martial arts and no doubt rough sex

Haha, I don't mind the mixed martial arts myself, actually!

REALLY hope all the players pull up okay and we can have Merrett in to take Fev. If Black, Merrett, Bradshaw and Drummond all play, then we should seriously win this one and send Carlton back to the drawing board... they should have tanked again! It'll be another wasted year
